Easter Service

Easter Service

St Augustine’s Church Grimsby

Monday 21st March 2016

On Monday March 21st all staff and children from KS1 and KS2 attended an Easter Service at St Augustine’s Church Grimsby. The service was conducted by Father Edward who warmly welcomed the children and staff upon arrival to the church.

Readers from Y1 to Y6 talked about the special days and customs leading up to Easter. Father Edward discussed this and answered questions from the children.

We sang our favourite hymns associated with Easter during the service which included,

Give me joy in my heart,

We have a King who rides a donkey,

He’s got the whole world in his hands,

You shall go out with joy,

Father Edward talked to us about the Easter Festival. He told us the story about the Three Trees which explores the aspirations of three trees and what they would like to become as mature trees. Essentially, they reach their ambitions by becoming a key object in the birth, life and death of Jesus finishing at Easter time.

We would like to thank Father Edward for his wonderful service which brought to us the meaning and significance of Easter.
